PDF Splitter

A PDF splitter is a browser-based tool that lets you break a multi-page PDF into smaller, more manageable pieces. Whether you need to extract a single chapter from a large report, pull out a few invoice pages from a batch scan, or separate every page into its own standalone file, a splitter gives you precise control over the output without requiring a desktop application or a subscription.

This tool supports two main splitting modes. Custom range extraction lets you specify exactly which pages to keep using a flexible notation such as "1-5, 8, 11-15", producing a new PDF that contains only those pages in the order you listed them. Burst mode, on the other hand, creates one individual PDF file per page, which is useful for distributing individual pages, uploading to systems that accept single-page documents, or archiving pages independently.

Because processing runs entirely in your browser using pdf-lib, your documents stay private — nothing is uploaded to a remote server. The tool handles standard A4 and letter documents as well as mixed-size PDFs, and it preserves all embedded fonts, images, and metadata in the output files. This makes it a reliable alternative to heavyweight desktop tools like Adobe Acrobat for everyday splitting tasks.
