About Word Guess
Word Guess asks you to identify a hidden five-letter word within six attempts. Every guess must itself be a real five-letter word, and after each one the tiles change colour to tell you how close you were: a letter in the right place, a letter in the word but in the wrong place, or a letter not in the word at all.
What makes the format compelling is that it is a deduction puzzle rather than a vocabulary test. The hidden word is almost always common; the skill is in choosing guesses that extract the most information, even when you have no intention of the guess being correct. A strong opening word tests five frequent letters at once, and the best second guess is often one that shares no letters with the first, because ruling letters out narrows the field just as effectively as ruling them in. Unlike the daily version everyone knows, you can play as many rounds here as you like.
How to Play Word Guess
- Type any valid five-letter word and press Enter to submit your first guess.
- Read the colours: green means right letter in the right place, yellow means the letter is in the word but positioned elsewhere, grey means it is not in the word.
- Use what you learned to choose a guess consistent with every clue so far.
- Solve it within six guesses. Start a new round whenever you like — there is no daily limit.

- Open with a word rich in common letters — something containing several of A, E, I, O, R, S, T, L and N gives you far more information than an unusual word.
