Frequently Asked Questions
Propagation time depends on the TTL of the old DNS record. Records with a low TTL (300 seconds) can propagate within minutes. Records with a high TTL (86400 seconds / 24 hours) can take up to 48 hours to update everywhere.
Resolvers cache DNS answers for the duration of the TTL. Until that cache expires, they will continue serving the old value. This is expected behaviour during propagation.
Lower your record's TTL to 300 seconds at least 24 hours before making the change. This ensures resolvers refresh their cache quickly once you update the record.
